Director-producer-actor Sasikumar’s Sundarapandian is slated for a solo release all over Tamil Nadu today, on Sep 14th. Way2movies.com is back with the reviews and this week, we look forward with Sundarapandian movie review.

Story:

As every Sasikumar’s film Sundarapandian also takes place in Madurai. Sundarapandian [Sasikumar] is the only son of rich landlord in the village, a good-hearted fun loving guy and loved by everyone. Sasikumar, who always catches up with his friends, helps Azhakar Samyin Kuthirai [Inigo] and his friend Appukutty, who is in love with Archana [Lakshmi Menon]. However girls fall for a crazy guy, who is helpful and lovable, same happens here too. Archana starts loving Sundarapandian, who has crush on the former from college days itself, which makes Azhakar Samyin Kuthirai feel low. Here the story takes a twist, as Azhakar’s friend Appukutty is been murdered by Sundarapandian in a fight for Archana.

How Sundarapandian will come out of Appukutty’s death crate and married Archana forms the crux of Sundarapandian…

Performances:

As a Superstar Rajinikanth’s fan Sasikumar has surpassed with his matured performance with a perfect comic timing that has perfectly worked out on screens.

Lakshmi Menon did her parts well with necessary ingredients at parts, she never seem to be a new actress.

Soori is the show stealer with his awardable performance on screen and has done a great job with timing and humorous one liners. Inigo and Appukuuty are apt choices to the roles and the credit goes to director.

Technical Ananlysis:

Debutant director Prabakharan is another promising director from the assistants of Sasikumar. Prabahakaran has come up with an engaging script and fairly picturised screenplay and good choice of actors. The director has to be specially tapped for his message oriented story and good climax.

Scores by NR Raghunathan are appealing, which worked out in favor of the movie. Raghunathan has once again excelled with good background music after Thenmerku Paruvakatru and Sundarapandian is expected to have inflow of offers for the composer.

Premkumar has handled the camera well in capturing the scenic rural beauty of Madurai, especially in the climax. While the editing works by Don Bosco would have been done better, as the movie seems lagging in some scenes and as part of the length even.

Analysis:

Sundarapandian is another Madurai based script in Sasikumar’s style all the way, which is a complete entertainer laced with friendship, love and revenge too.

Nothing new compared to Sasikumar’s earlier films, but being a new filmmaker Prabhakaran has perfectly handled the movie without turning out any coin and following the footsteps of his guru, Sasikumar.

First half has a bit slow narration, but has unique feel-good factors compared to that of second half, which paths way to sudden seriousness for the climax

Might be Sundarapandian looks like a sequel to Nadodigal with some instincts of Subramaniapuram, but it sticks to its commercial formula with a positive ending, in Prabhakaran’s own style.

Final Verdict:

Sasikumar is back with his entertaining performance in a message oriented movie with attracting screenplay by Prabhakaran…
