Hey! is a great start for an instant hit music album like ‘Vanakkam Chennai’. Song has a usual start with guitar notes that has slowly reached heights with the lyrics by Na. Muthukumar, which are equally supported by Anirudh’s composition interludes. Singing of Maria Roe Vincent and Papon are lively resembling the couple who are newly in love. The song is an instant hit with young Romeos.

Song 02: Osaka Osaka

Singers: Anirudh, Pragathi

Osaka Osaka is melodious in the casual rendition of Anirudh Ravichander. Madhan Karky’s lyrics and the drum interludes lift up the song. Flute interludes along with violin in the background are classy, while it is definitely close compositions of AR Rahman and Harris Jayrraj. Might be a late entry yet Pragathi adds enough flavor to the track keeping up composers belief on her voice.

Oh Penne is quite infectious with listeners’ right from the trailer. Vishal Dadlani a famous singer from Bollywood has maintained the similar intensity with his earlier renditions, while Anirudh has worked enough hard to match the former.

Chennai City Gangsta is one more elevation song in the name of capital city Chennai and the Tamilians. Anirudh is back with his party number along with Hard kaur. This song is totally an Aadhi’s show all over with his lyrics and ear-catchy rendition along the Hip-Hop mix of Anirudh Ravichander and Superstar Rajiniaknth’s dialogue.

Engadi Porandha is a feet tapping number to be enjoyed with claps and laughs. Lyrics by Vignesh Shivan are funny and one of the highlight of the song, especially ‘Baasha naanda’ lin will relish well with youngsters. Vocal percussions by Anirudh Ravichander and Andrea Jeremiah’s rendition together took the sizzling number to a step higher along with the finishing drum beats are savor.

Interludes such as water drop echoes, Piano and Nadaswaram sounds equally supportive and fresh along with Suchitra’s voice.

Compared to the original one, international version of Oh Penne is not so appealing, but might go way well with the remix lovers.
