Lets have a quick Madras Music Review, for the songs composed by sensational composer Santosh Narayanan...

Song 01: Agayam Theepidicha

Singer: Pradeep Kumar

Lyrics: Kabilan

Rating: 3.5/5

Santosh Narayanan is back with one of his favourite cuisine alongside guitars. Agayam Theepidicha has some beautiful compositions hooked to the beautiful singing by Pradeep Kumar. Santosh Narayanan's music and Pradeep's singing pleasantly complemented eachother. Pradeep gets a special attention in the loop portions [Kannukulle ipu kadakasivarakadu paaru Ponnukulla Undi Vanduseru...] and he is best choice for the song.

Song 02: Kaakidha Kappal

Singer: Gaana Bala

Lyrics: Gaana Bala

Rating: 2.5/5

Gaana Bala is back with his signature style of singing. Nothing seems new, yet the singer made few improvisations by the end of everyline. Composition has nothing much than steady drums, string sections, trumpets, and chorus one after the other in a line. Kaakidha Kappal might get place in sensational soup songs list.

Song 03: Madras

Singer(s): Hariharasudhan, Meenakshi Iyer

Lyrics: Kabilan

Rating: 3/5

Chennai Vada Chennai song has typical North Madras style with the line 'Enga Ooru Madras-u Iduku Naangadana Address-u' in repetitive mode in different styles of orchestra, starting from electronic beats to drum beats and nadaswaram tune. Thumps up for Santosh Narayanan's thought. Singers Hariharasudhan and Meenakshi Iyer have done a good job.

Song 04: Naan Nee

Singer(s): Shakthishree Gopalan, Dheekshitha

Lyrics: Uma Devi

Rating: 3/5

Santosh Narayanan thinks out-of-the-way. Naan Nee is a glutted number that directly starts with the humming by Shakthishree Gopalan and definitely takes some time to create the actual feel, which is usually done by initial scores. Though Singers pulls off the melody with their magnetic vocals and Santosh Narayanan's touch, it may not go well with audience in the first listen.

Song 05. Irandhidava

Singer: Gaana Bala

Lyrics: Gaana Bala

Rating: 2/5

Gaana Bala returns for a gloomy track in popular North Madras style. He succeeded in creating the mood with typical fiddle music, which was in regular use in 80's. It might go along the Karthi's Madras story while watching the film, but may not be a listeners choice.

Final Verdict: Santosh Narayanan dwells with new genre in comfort zone...
