Charulatha is the upcoming horror film being directed by Ponkumaran, a former assistant to directors K Bhagyaraj and K S Ravikumar. Hansraj Saxena, the former Deputy Managing Director of Sun Pictures popularly known as Sax is debuting as a producer with Charulatha.

Priyamani is back into Kollywood with Charulatha that will be simultaneously released in Telugu and Kannada as well. Ponkumaran, who achieved success with his first directorial venture Vishnuvardhana with Sudeep Kiccha, Priyamanai and Bhavana in Sandalwood, is trying his luck in Kollywood for the first time.

Mollywood actor Skanda is pairing opposite Priyamani in Charulatha and the later will be seen as a Siamese twin in the movie. Sundar C. Babu is composing music and BGM for Charulatha while M.V. Panneerselvam is the DOP and Donmax will take care of editing department in the production of Globus One Studios Productions banner.

Sax is turning Tamil films distributor with Charulatha under his Sax Pictures banner, while Allu Aravind has bagged the Telugu version under Geetha Arts banner and Dwarakish for the Kannada audiences.
