Generally we don’t recall bad scenes or characters once again in our minds. But some of the reel life villains were memorized as evergreen actors even today. Some of these roles got more appreciable remarks than heroic characters in movie.They may be from  loud to the soft spoken roles, the cruel killer to the smiling killer characters, the manipulators, and the traitor and even may be down to the cold blooded criminals.

What ever may be, some of the villain roles of  Tamil movies were remained as evergreen characters in the eyes of movie lovers. Here are some of the most recognizable, memorable evergreen villain roles of the kollywood that were judged as best ones based on

* The role that has created a vibration among the movie fans during the release of the movie. * This brought a good appreciation for the actor who played in the movie. * The roles are committed to memory even today because of these vibrant characters.

“Puriyatha Pudhiru” – Raghuvaran

The evergreen actor Raghuvaran who have given us numerous memorable negative shade roles with the movies such as Badsha, Mudhalvan, Poi Vizhivasalile and Kadhalan is very much reminded with his characterization in ‘Puriyatha Pudhiru’ that shows powerful depiction of a man who for no obvious reason kept imposing physical and mental torture on his wife. This character of Raghuvaran in the film has created a vibration among the movie fans and also remained him as one of the Kollywood’s leading villains in film career.

“Padayappa” – Ramya Krishnan

The glamorous heroine Ramya Krishnan showed her one more side of her face with her character Nilambari in superstar Rajini’s ‘Padayappa’ movie. She played intensively opposite Rajini beating him in all angles of the film. And everyone should agree that Padayappa is remembered more for Neelambari than for anything else. The hyper desire to get the man of her dreams and the ferocity when it does not happen was brought out with her character that was never seen before. Playing a villain in Tamil cinema is not an opportunity that every actress gets but when Ramya Krishnan got this one she gave it everything for her role in the movie and remained as all time favorite character even today.

“Aasai” – Prakash Raj

The movie ‘Aasai’ starring Ajith Kumar and Suvalakshmi is very well known for the character of Madhavan played Prakash Raj who creates one of the most heartless but memorable screen villains in recent times. Though the character goes calmly, his daily tasks while disgusting his wife or working his way into the good books of his father-in-law, says that he is a true wolf in sheep's clothing. His dreadful villain characterization with no extravagant action sequences made everyone wriggle in their seats. Undoubtedly, it will be one of Tamil cinema’s most terrifying negative roles. “16 Vayadhinile” – Rajinikanth

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth who gained wide recognition with the movie Moondru Mudichu in which he played the role of a cruel womanizer, followed up with movies like 16 Vayadhinile, Gayathri, which cast him in villainous and anti-hero roles. In this superstar’s one of the best performance with huge reminded characterization was in ‘16 Vayadhinile’. We still remember the ‘Idhu eppadi irukku’ one liner punch dialogue of the actor in the film. His character of an unconditional cold blooded brat who derived sadistic pleasure from taunting and troubling helpless villagers which finally rolls the darker side of the character has got much applause and remained as one of the evergreen anti hero performance of Rajini in his acting career. “Mahadevi” - P.S. Veerappa

The veteran actor P S Veerappa is remembered as best anti heroic actor with his characterizations of inflicting pain and agony to M.G.R in many movies. His potent performance with powerful voice and dialogue delivery in ‘Mahadevi’ remained him as one of the best actor for villain roles in kollywood. The strong dialogue ‘Manandhal Mahadevi, illayendral Maranadevi’ is recalled with wistfulness even today. “Enga Veettu Pillai” – Nambiar

Nambiar is said to be kollywood’s legendary bad man and veteran villain actor of the film industry ruled for more than 50 years. He played powerful villain roles in MGR films and skyrocketed himself to a position most actors would envy. His role in the film Enga Veettu Pillai as Narendran even hits MGR with the whip during the initial scenes and got outstanding appreciations for his character. So till today he remained as kollywood’s all time villain. “Vaali” – Ajith Kumar

Thala fans did not expect him in that much intensifying character until his film ‘Vaali’ hits the screen. Ajith who acted as a devilish brother to one more Ajith of his dual character made every one wince and even sympathies went out for Simran and her husband. And to the special to talk about his character is that the villain Ajith never spoke even a single word throughout the film, only his eyes did most of the talking and made the audience giggling their hair. Undoubtedly Ajith fans will still recall his devilish character in Vaali as one of the best.

“Captain Prabhakar” - Mansoor Ali Khan

Mansoor Ali khan’s well shaped negative face came up with the film ‘Captain Prabhakar’. His characterization is in this film rotated   well in the generation that grew up when sandal smuggler Veerappan was still looting the forests of Sathyamangalam. So his role at that time in the film was the reference point to the people of how Veerappan would look until another movie ‘Nakkeeran Gopalan’ came. Without hesitation we can say that Mansoor Ali Khan has given best terrific villain characterization with this movie to the industry as well as fans. “Thivar Magan” - Nassar

Nasser who is considered as one of the evergreen actor is also well known for villain characters and got well recognized with his characterization in ‘Thivar Magaqn’. Though his character in the film does not involve direct murders attacks or in the face insults, it was full of planned moves to nudge the other political parties that resulted in plunder and slaughter of people. He played the role with an intention of ‘hurt the other at any cost and showed us that playing the villain in itself can be done in such varied styles. So he remained as one of the memorable villain actor in the kollywood.

“Amaithipadai” – Sathyaraj

Sathyaraj had knocked the Tamil audience with ‘Amaithipadai’ showing sarcasm, mockery, taunting in his character. The movie relived all the memorable villain roles that he had done in the past. His sarcastic powerful catchy one liners had used over the years were mouthed again, and gave much to the delight of viewers. So he remained as one of the memorable actor with his own style of negative shade in the kollywood industry.
